Expertise in technical consulting and product monitoring

The central unit Quality and Testing advises customers on technical aspects, ensures quality at all stages of production and tests all of the products. This is the job of around 250 employees in the chemical and technical laboratories, in the quality departments of the plants and in the central Quality Management.

We also advise our customers on material selection and on matching product properties to the specifications. We develop new products in close cooperation with the Innovation department.

Since we have consolidated our technical consulting, quality planning and product and process monitoring under one roof, we can ensure that the actual properties of our products fulfil our product and quality promises to the greatest possible degree.

The highest level of quality through certification and accreditation

Our quality management system is certified in accordance with IATF 16949:2016. This provides the solid basis on which we are able to manufacture our products at a high quality level and using stable processes. At the same time, we can continuously improve products and processes on this basis.

The process inspection and approval tests are carried out at the sites in Völklingen-Nauweiler, Burbach and Neunkirchen as well as in the central chemical and technical laboratories. To ensure independent, first-class and reliable inspection values, the laboratories at Saarstahl AG have been accredited in accordance with EN 17025 by the German accreditation body “Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle” (DAkkS).
