Quality, environmental protection, energy and occupational health and safety at Saarstahl
As an internationally active steel-producing company we are convinced that health and safety at work, quality, environmental protection and energy efficiency are essential elements for the lasting preservation and developmental capacity of our company and such must thus be integrated in our corporate operations.
The company Saarstahl AG is aware of its responsibility toward the interest groups e.g. customers, employees and the general public. The top priority is ensuring the satisfaction of these interest groups and the fulfilment of the contractual and statutory requirements.
Customers
We advise and support our customers by cooperating with them as partners. We ask about their needs and wishes, and orient ourselves on these. Customer satisfaction is our main goal, going beyond that of supplying products that comply with the various standards, customer requirements and technical delivery conditions. Our business planning is directed towards this goal.
Employees
Motivated and satisfied employees are the guarantee of our corporate success. This is why we guarantee our employees excellent qualifications and champion the values defined in the ethics and compliance guidelines, company mission and management principles. These values are the measure for correct behaviour. The safety and health of our employees is of prime importance to us.
Continuous improvement
We improve our products and processes continuously at all levels by pursuing a zero-defect strategy.
We prevent or minimize environmental effects and health and safety risks for its employees by pursuing a preventative policy.
We check our energy consumption to avoid unnecessary cost expenditure and develop activities to improve energy efficiency.
We make sure that measures conform with the best available in technology, industrial medicine and hygiene, as well as other supported findings of ergonomic analysis.
We want to meet market requirements with the utmost operational and economic efficiency.
Sustainability
We pay special attention to the protection of the environment, the production of environmentally friendly products and the economical use of natural resources, taking economic aspects into consideration. Biodiversity and the variety of species in our immediate surroundings are valued as assets worth protecting. We strive to enable the habitation of indigenous species at our locations, and pursue renaturation activities that serve the greening of bluffs, for example.
Climate protection
We support the Paris Climate Agreement and play an active part in the climate turnaround. Investments in the future of our plant technologies are always reviewed and realized under the consensus of climate protection.
In addition, we also want to continuously improve the energy efficiency and energy efficiency rates of our systems and processes to reduce our specific energy consumption and sustainably protect resources (source: CCF Report).
Provisions for emergencies and hazardous incidents
Providing for emergencies and hazardous incidents and minimizing the effects of such on its own employees, those from other companies and people in the vicinity are an important part of out daily operations. This also includes information security that is guaranteed by means of a company-wide ISMS (Information Security Management System).
Information security
The processing of information makes an important contribution to the competitiveness of Saarstahl AG. Information security major is thus very important for protecting the company’s resources, and consequently an integral part of our corporate objectives. Information security is tasked with protecting our own information or data and the information or data entrusted to us, as well as our technical systems, by adequate measures.
Corporate goals
Goals are defined for all areas of operation and all levels. These goals contain parameters that are constantly and continuously evaluated. All employees are informed in full of the corporate goals and results.
The heads of the Operating Units inform their individual employees of the corporate policy.
The Managing Board defines the Integrates Management System within the scope of this integrated manual. All employees are obligated to align their operational activities with the requirements and standards set out in the Integrated Management System Manual and thus implement corporate policy and goals.
